 There is a real challenge ahead of waiting for the Gdynia’s team. In the next two rounds Asseco will visit Malaga and after that Moscow.
Malaga is ACB league’s ninth team with 9 wins and as many as 11 loses. During this season club parted ways with: Larry Lewis, Pooh Jeter, Nedzad Sinanović, Shammond Williams and Taquan Dean. Apart from early turmoil Unicaja is very strong. They finished the first phase with 7:3 balance. This season Euroleague good performance is team’s priority. Away game in Malaga will be very difficult for the Asseco, but Qyntel/Logan duo is at their peak form and receive strong support from other players so anything is possible. Head Coach Garcia "Aito" Reneses (63yrs old) has got some talented players at his disposal. Greek Georgios Printezis (24 yrs/202 cm), with his about 2 mln dollar contract, Juan Dixon (31/191), who played in the NBA for 8 seasons and also newly acquired PG Zabian Dowdell (25/190). Playmaker Omar Cook (28/186) is team’s brain. He averages 6 dimes per game, which is 2nd result in Euroleague. Junior Harrington should find a real pleasure in challenging him. Guillem Rubio (27/202), Joel Freeland (23/208), Carlos Jimenez (33/201) i Robert Archibald (29/209) stand for Malaga’s power in the paint. Other players on the roster: Rafael Freire (17/188), Berni Rodriguez (29/197), Miguel Servera (17/198), Saul Blanco (24/194) and well known to NBA fans Jiri Welsch (30/202).
